SARAH HUGHES

Our son was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2017 aged 4 years. Navigating the world of hospitals, tests, medication and education when your child has an illness can feel overwhelming and isolating. So when we were introduced to HOPE London in 2018, we were so relieved and happy to finally be around people that totally understood our situation. The HOPE team are a fantastic support to us as a family and are always on hand to help and advise on new situations we find ourselves in whether it’s a new treatment or challenges arising at school. They have also connected us to other families who have gone through something similar and have shared their experience and advice with us. The HOPE sessions are so much fun. Our kids really look forward to going and for us it’s lovely to catch up with the other families. As a brand consultant and graphic designer, I was more than happy to offer my help with a bit of a brand refresh for this fantastic charity. And when Nadine asked if I would like to be part of the Parent Support team, I jumped at the chance. Knowing how much talking to other parents has helped me, it seemed like a great opportunity for me to give something back and hopefully help others.
